Mr. Picano has been providing consulting services for over 20 years, specializing in the turnaround of distressed privately held businesses. He has worked with over 60 companies and has established a record of creating massive positive changes in troubled businesses.
He is well known in the accounting, legal, and investment banking professions across New England. These relationships provide introductions to new clients as well as provide a foundation of expertise which Mr. Picano has used in each specific client case.
Client cases generally require significant analysis of the current situation, investigation of potential alternative directions, development of a business plan, and execution of the plan. These business plans are always tempered by the cash available to the client company and the business disposition of the client’s secured and unsecured lenders. Joe generally creates and manages cash plans that are closely tied to the operations and the execution of the plan. By looking forward in an open manner with clients and lenders, he is able to assist clients in getting the time needed to complete dramatic changes in the overall financial position of the business.
Joe is presently President of Profit Management, Inc., and his prior experience includes employment with Coopers & Lybrand in the Reorganization Services Business Unit (1993-1995) and at General Management Resources, Inc., a small general management consulting business specializing in turnarounds (1990-1993). Prior to consulting, Mr. Picano worked for two years as a Quality/Manufacturing Engineer at Textron Defense Systems.
Mr. Picano has served on the Board of Directors of several privately held manufacturing and distribution businesses.
Mr. Picano received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College in 1985, and an MBA from Boston University in 1989
